New Blog

I'm leaving Xanga.  I've been wanting a blog with more security, and I'm tired of the advertisements on xanga.  My new blog address is:

grace42day.wordpress.com

If you would like to read my new blog, though, you must do this:
1) go to www.wordpress.com
2) click on sign up
3) follow the directions.
(they will email you a password, which you can later change)

Then, you'll need to email me your "username"
(I don't need to know your password)
If you don't have my e-mail, just put your username on the comments on this blog entry.  No one will know your password so it won't matter.

Once I have your username, I'll enter you as someone who can view my blog.

I just want to know who is reading about my schedule and my family -- where we are and what we do.   I wasn't excited about the random messages I was receiving from strangers who were reading my xanga.  This fixes that issue.  It's a little bit of trouble, I know, but I hope you'll join me over there.  I will feel much more free to share when I know it's secure.

Gettysburg Blog

We are in Gettysburg, PA, on summer project for a few weeks.  We arrived 2 days ago and have been busily buying food and preparing it for 20 people for about 3 weeks.  The students arrive tomorrow.  While we're here, check out this blog for updates:

Be sure to read the entry about the lightening strike.  I was about 20ish yards away (and standing outside) from the tree when lightening struck it.  I thought a canon had gone off and something had exploded.  Scary!  I am seriously thanking God for sparing our lives that day.  Whew!

Virginia Beach

Yesterday we made our first trip of the season to the beach.  Rebekah couldn't come, because she had a dance class in preparation for her recital next week.  The weather was beautiful.  82 degrees and windy.  The kids and David boogie boarded, but Jessica and Arthur didn't last long in the cold water.  Leah LOVED it!  She played in the water for 3 hours!  Here are some pictures of the day:

After the beach, we had a picnic supper at a state park with some friends.  What a fun day!

Arthur's Braces

OK, so this isn't the best picture, but here is Arthur at the beach yesterday sporting his new braces:

Maybe one of these days I'll have a better close-up shot of him.

Meanwhile, I have some great pictures of our beach day today.  I'll post them tomorrow.

A Few Prom Pictures

Rebekah went to our local home school prom last night.  She went with a big group of kids.  No dates, they just all went together.  They had a "before prom getting ready party/dinner" that families were invited to.  That was fun.  Here's Rebekah right before they left for the prom:

Here are all the kids who were at the dinner.  A few more of their friends joined them at the prom.

This is Rebekah, Matt, and Maggie.  These 3 are great friends.

And here is a shot showing how pretty Rebekah's hair was.  (I got my hair cut off -- did you notice?)

After the prom, the kids went back to the same house and had a swim party.  It was in the 50's and windy, but they swam anyway.  Rebekah and Maggie went to Maggie's house around 1:30 a.m. and spent the night.

This morning, Arthur got braces.  I'll post pictures of his new look maybe tomorrow.
